Black Culture Week Opening Reception and Fundraiser

The Black Culture Week Opening Reception and Fundraiser is a featured event of Black Culture Week. Intentionally held at Josephine's Cooking (Captain Hardtimes') in the heart of Chicago's South Side, the Opening Reception will explain the purpose and intent behind Black Culture Week, while celebrating the work of nine community champions. Community members from all walks of life are invited to network with our honorees while making a financial contribution to support the ongoing work associated with Black Culture Week and Black Culture Wellness.

Our Black Culture Week honorees include Ghian Foreman, Val Free, La'Keisha Gray-Sewell, Ayesha Jaco, Rita Lee, Dr. Flavian Prince, Duane Powell, Anton Seals, Jimalita Tillman and JR Fleming, with featured performances by Khari Lemuel and Uneq'ka.
